Who's to say that the Timelords are killed off.

Well, Russell T Davies has destroyed Gallifrey, described the Doctor as 'the last of the Time Lords', had him say that his people are gone on numerous occasions and, when Rose pointed out that the survival of a Dalek might mean some of his people survived, had him say that he'd be able to feel it in his mind if there were other Time Lords in the Universe.

All of which leads one to the sensible conclusion that Russell T Davies intends that the Time Lords are well and truly gone for this new series, so one suspects that as long as he produces the show there will be no Time Lords.

None of which makes any sense to me whatever. As I mentioned before; they can travel through time. The Doctor has already met up with the Master at least once in the future - in Frontier in Space.

Davies is definitely one who believes that "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." There's a blatant contradiction between something the Doctor says in one of the early episodes of the first season and what actually happens in the recent Christmas special. If he thinks it would be dramatic to have some Timelords show up, I'm sure we'll see Timelords.

Yup, that's how I figure it. It's silly to try and force continuity in Dr Who, there used to be 'timeline' for the Cybermen on the BBC Dr Who Cult TV site (I can't find it anymore) It was so convoluted it was worthless. WHen you can travel anywhere in time you can change anything you want, moreso if you are 'Out of time' yourself as the Timelords are.

Heck, in the classic series, there are two origins stories for the Daleks and at least three contradictory explanations for the Loch Ness Monster.
