Here is a little quiz that I thought was kind of fun.

Large disadvantage if English is not your first language and you're no US citizen. I'll give it a try though
(I think I just got a very hard one, again it's biased considering your culture). I feel there are imperial units involved as well
I know some, but I fail to find the correct word in English
(like the 12 S of the Z)
Score 12, I give up. There is one that I know however, but I can't find how to make the result correct. And one that I know except for 1 letter.
I have a coworker here who is up to 24. I hate her.
I'm up to 22 but I've been looking at it since lunch.
I've been looking at it for 3 minutes![]()
Eh, I checked one answer in google and saw two more so I'll claim 17. Unfortunately I was using a browser that didn't grade so I didn't know the answer was right, otherwise I wouldn't have checked. Anyway I toss all three answers and claim the affore mentioned 17. Does googling spelling count against me? If so 15. Spelling isn't a sign of intelligence ya know.
edit to add new score. I'm still staring and scratching my head
Well, I have 16 (been at it about 4 or 5 minutes). I'd like to puzzle some more, but my family insists that I make them dinner now! Good luck, some of them are really odd (IMO).
Thought I'd share this for a chuckle. It appears I'm not the only one who had trouble with #28.

Other than that, I've got 19 on my own.
Hey! That's the one that I googled and my coworker yelled at me! Spoiler: I guessed "P of" was "pairs of" and googled 23 pairs of. The answer came right up. My excuse for googling was that this is the 21st century and my knowledge extends to the vast sea of information called the internet.Originally Posted by Doodler

This thing is BADLY slanted, so I'd be real cautious about assigning any major weight to the outcome.
27, but I figured out #28 based on the posts above, so 26 unaided.
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.
16 without google or wikipedia help![]()
How about

Yeah, if you're a Christian from South Africa, you've got a big advantage. Otherwise, there are a few that are pretty nearly impossible for anyone outside that culture.Originally Posted by Doodler

I just stunned myself...pulled #14 out of nowhere!
I took a guess at that one after I figured out #17.Originally Posted by Doodler

Yeah, got those in the other order. You mentioning a South African viewpoint kinda blew some fog away.
I found #22 while I'm totally not interested in that subject
I did get the South Africa part, but nat what should be in front![]()

A good thing they put the cultural bias in the disclaimer. Otherwise, the results would be totally worhtless. To me, it was just a good game.
I had a typo, my score is 13 now(3 minutes total, and I'm a non-English MT non-South African non-Christian non-Imperial Unit guy who watches little sports
)
Fifteen minutes in and got 25 so far.
Defintely slanted, culture-wise.
But fun.![]()
Final Score for Doodler: 25(26)/33
I've bogged down at a respectable 19.
Some 18 months ago I reported on a board this
statement from the Mensa website; "One in
50 people have an IQ in the top 2% that makes
them eligable to join Mensa." Its not there
anymoreI always say the most intelligent
responce to an intelligence test is to tear
up the paper!
Bogged down here too, at 27. Actually got 28, but one was with the help of a hint that I inadvertently read in this thread.
That was fun! Thanks, tofu!![]()
Back in the 1950s, President Eisenhower was reportedly shocked to find out that, when it came to intelligence, nearly 50% of all Americans were below average!![]()
Yeah, I came up with two more from comments in this thread, and I think I was getting closer to another pair mentionned.
Hmm. My favorite variant of that "joke" is the claim that "management became alarmed when they realized that about 40% of all sick time taken happened on mondays and fridays."
LOL!Originally Posted by Moose

that's sort of like the statement about the realization by <insert favorite whipping boy president name here> that 50% of americans have a below average IQ. frightening!Originally Posted by peteshimmon
