And in the other corner.... bigfoot?

You know Bigfoot just hasn't gotten the annoying publicity that other woo-woos have and that's just not right.

It's good to see that he's finially getting some back.. in India? Well that would "explain" the stock footage from Washington LOL.

And back in the USofA: Smile, Bigfoot: Your photo is wanted
It wants to help find unidentified species and continue an appreciation for mysterious animals.
You get a whole 4 weeks to come up with an "Unknown animal" picture.

I doubt they get what they're looking for not because they don't exist, but if you have a picture of Bigfoot or Nessie you can turn it into much more than $5k.

There is a little redneck town not far from where I live. There is nothing in the area, except mosquito infested swamps. So, if you were a tourist passing through on the main highway, there would be no reason to stop there.
Except for a small bigfoot museum. Nothing else to bring in tourists, so it makes you wonder? Any reason to go to Kerala, unless to hunt BF?

CNN: 'Bigfoot' expedition planned in Michigan
One of the top headlines...even if it is titled as offbeat.

I don't see an issue in looking, and this story doesn't seem to make any claims (they do use "might" instead of the absolute "did").

But; there's something about the organizer being named Moneymaker that makes this hard to swallow.

There's an ad in my local paper (it's been there for about a year) for bigfoot footage, shot just outside my home town. Three VHs tapes, $15, conclusive evidence. So they say.

I've often wondered if, around Lake Okanagan (in southern BC), Bigfoot and the Ogopogo ever duke it out over territory. Alternatively, if they ever get together to have a barbecue and play some cards.

    Latest Bigfoot sighting...
Pa. Hunter's Images Stir Bigfoot Debate
It's furry and walks on all fours. Beyond that, about the only thing certain about the critter photographed by a hunter's camera is that some people have gotten the notion it could be a Sasquatch, or bigfoot. Others say it's just a bear with a bad skin infection.
Anybody know if the picture's been released to the public?

Purportedly MadeBig.com, citing BFRO, probably Bigfoot Field Research Organization, which is claiming to be down for me right now.

    MadeBig: Large source image
Caption on that image is PABucks.com, which has images. I saved images in case sources dry up. One at PABucks.com does look like four-legged animal and skinny bear would seem more likely than fanciful hairy humanoid primate with large feet.

It would be interesting to see more of what they say since I see how they use "appears" without "could be".

I don't know what to make of it. It's hard to even tell which way it could be facing. (The feet are a good clue though).

And; I'd also like to see the worth or purpose of such a bad picture to someone who was "hoping to photograph deer".

Time magazine: Pa. Hunter Stirs Bigfoot Debate

However, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has a more conventional opinion. Agency spokesman Jerry Feaser said conservation officers routinely trap bears to be tagged and often see animals that look like the photos.

"There is no question it is a bear with a severe case of mange," Feaser told The Bradford Era.

    Thread necromancy.

This just showed up on our local news.
Bigfoot spotted in Portage County? (video)
Some guy is obsessed with finding proof of bigfoot. Infrared cameras and even evidence...a bigfoot plaster cast of a footprint.

Oh; and more importantly, he's even got his own youtube channel.

He is "searching for the truth" and says that "Nobody is ever going to change my mind".

He's been searching for 20 years now. After all that time, and not being open minded, I doubt he's going to find the "truth".

Why does the news waste our time on this stuff. Oh; wait, I know. The video ended with "...appearing on the show Bigfoot Hunters". Aaarg, that's a commercial... not news.

Nope, not new; but you've got to add extra demerits for bigfoot.

ETA: and a few more for someone who has failed for 20 years.

"X is the way I think it is, and nothing is going to change my mind" is pretty much a dis-qualifier for any argument. It's also the best way to get your own show on 'History'.

Next season, see me in the new documentary, "Leprechaun Tooth-Fairy Hunters Inc." We're not just searching for the Tooth Fairy, we're searching for a Leprechaun Tooth-Fairy! Believe!

    Bump

I don't know if we have a generally accepted general BigFoot thread, but this one seems like a good choice.

Researchers: New video shows the real Bigfoot

New video? It's so bad that I can't tell if it's just a really bad video or just an adaptation of the 1967 video. I think they took the original 1967 footage added blur effects and put it on an HD format.

    But the real story...
The DNA samples were sent to labs at New York University, UT Southwestern and the North Louisiana Crime lab. Some results came back human. Others did not.
"This creature does not follow general rule. What it does do is very different. We think it is human hybrid
What? That just shows there is no consistancy in the samples.
And what are the other samples?
For all I know, that just proves the existence of a Centaur.

"I don't try to change their mind with speech. I try to get as much data as I can like this and pound people with the data that we have,"
Pound people? I don't care how much you hit me with it, if it isn't compelling, traceable and consistant, it isn't going to change my mind.

"I like to call myself a cryptozoologist
I like to call myself "King of World". The problem is, nobody listens when they here me say that.

I get a big kick out of that stuff. "Paranormal Expert." "Cryptozoologist." "Chiropractor." Etc.

(No offense to any Chrio's out there, just making a joke!)

The 1967 "video" was actually film. You try telling that to kids these days...

But today when you shoot digital video, it gets described as "footage".

I never watched the film. I've only seen the video of it on the internet or on TV.
