- Meteorologists would no longer be able to track hurricanes or other dangerous weather as accurately, which would endanger many lives.
- There would be no satellite TV (that one would be no great loss compared to the other things listed here).
- Any kind of live, overseas reporting would have to be done over land lines; in many cases, this wouldn't be possible.
- It would be more difficult for government intelligence agencies to monitor what other nations are doing with their militaries.
That's just a few things off the top of my head. I'm sure others can think of many more.
all manner of experiments and observations would come to an end. I do NOT want to turn off the HST!
