Did anyone else here catch this show yesterday on Techtv? It went into some detail about some of the troubles the Soviet space agency has had in years past. It was actually pretty informative with film I'd never seen before. Only one little fact foul-up that I noticed...it stated that Neil took his historic first step on the Moon July 23rd 1969. Other than that it was a show well worth watching. It will be repeating through out the week.

I had it on but I was doing other things too, so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to some segments. I thought it was pretty disgraceful that three cosmonauts had to die because their Soyuz capsule wasn't designed to be large enough to allow them to wear pressure suits, but I know that kind of bureaucratic thinking isn't unique to the Soviet space program. I was hoping that they'd mention the power outage on Mir when local (Indy) favorite astronaut David Wolf was on board but they only talked about the fire when Jerry Linenger was on it. (Unless they mentioned it quick while I was out of the room.) Wolf said in a radio interview something to the effect that there was NOTHING as quiet as a space station with no power. I bet not. I did enjoy the program.
