CEV on How Stuff Works has a new article about the Crew Exploration Vehicle. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but what I have read looks like a nice overview.

Nice article. Just the usual hickup at the end:

"Since the moon is only three days away, it is safer and less expensive to launch missions to Mars from there."

Looks pretty good, tho I didn't read the whole thing.

What is needed, however, is a nifty name for this series of vehicles besides CEV and CLV. We had Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo, the Soviets had Vostok, Voskhod, and Soyuz, I don't know if Shenzhou is an official name for China's vehicle. "CEV' is just so, well, dull...

"Space shuttle" is descriptive but just as dull as STS. Buran was a cool name.

"For shame, gentlemen, pack your evidence a little better against another time."

Right now, the program is being called Constellation. It just hasn't been used much in the press.
