My grandfather is apparently in a ceremony by the Canadian government today for his service in WWII. All of my grandparents served, but he is the only one who is still alive. He is still in a club for people who were in his line of work, but the numbers are dropping quickly.

Actually, he and my Grandmother worked at a RADAR monitoring station on the Novia Scotia coast. That is where they met.

My father was in WWII as a gunner (he survived the war and died in 1978) - and I've managed to track down a copy of his actual enlistment application. It was a weird feeling reading over it for the first time - wondering what was going though his head and how he may have felt.
