Thumbs up Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning (Star Trek Fan Parody)

A friend downloaded this and burned it for me onto DVD. This is the most elaborate fan film ever made. The special effects are on par to what you'd see in professional films. The sf fan film has now approached a new level of sophistication. The most expensive part of this film was the computer technology-the "rendering farm" is a kitchen with a bunch of computers in it. The "sets" are largely virtual, and were done using blue/green screening in someone's apartment.

The film is silly, but fun. The humor is very dark. I enjoyed it.

Hehe. I downloaded this a few weeks ago, and I really like it.

If anyone's wondering, It's a Star Trek-Babylon 5 crossover parody with a pretty wicked space battle. It's Finnish, and subtitled.

I'm still chuckling that the "render farm" was a bunch of computers in the kitchen. Apparently, they were all there because the sound of the hard drives and fans was driving everyone nuts.
