I heard of that the performance of F-22 raptor is excellent.
Raptor looks cool,
and the Eurofighter has also been spotted at Langley, Nellis AFB and Peterson...I'm not sure how accurate the info is
maybe they are doing joint training moves, or comparing the EF-Typhoon and F-22 Raptor
I cant watch the video on the link provided!!![]()
neither can I

Try this. It's a Realmedia plugin for IE and Firefox that uses Media Player Classic instead of Real's garbagy player.
If you use UNIX, then try mplayer-plugin, or GXine. With the right codecs, both should be able to handle RealVideo. If you use KDE and Firefox, try Kaffeine, that has a Mozilla plugin. If you use KDE and Konqueror, than it ought to just play if you have the right codecs installed.
Whatever you do, don't install Realplayer, you'll never be able to get rid of it completely.
(Beats me why the heck they use RealVideo for this stuff... Absolute trash, it is.)

Oogh. Just a sec, I'll try with mplayer-plugin.
Edit: Well, I'll be danged. The file doesn't exist... What the heck?
Sniff, I got to Langley, on my first duty assignment, a month after the first F-15s arrived there. Replacing the F-4s.Originally Posted by sarongsong

Lockheed Martin is rushing a software fix to Hawaii after 12 U.S. Air Force F-22A Raptors en route to Japan...had to turn back because an unspecified problem with their navigation systems...Asked to comment on rumours the problem related to crossing the international dateline, the USAF said: "...For operational security reasons we will not discuss specific aircraft systems or locations."... Flight Global
No doubt it's related to that whole "Windows for Warships" disaster-waiting-to-happen thing.
That's hardly a major glitch though, and at least it's being fixed quickly. That's certainly an amazing aircraft, no doubt about it.
D'oh......Maj. Scott "Fang" Fedak...has flown the F-15 in combat...said the F-22 is a major technological jump..."It's like making the jump from DOS to Windows"... Star-Bulletin
If what I just heard on the news is remotely accurate I'd say it's frighteningly more than major. Apparently multiple systems/processors were affected. The underlying glitch in the nav software may have been simple but apparently the systems are so interdependent that a bug in one essentially shut down the airplane. They had no nav or attitude reference capability at all. In bad weather or without tankers to follow home, possibly catastrophic.

Really?
That's more major than I had originally heard then...
I certainly hope that it is fixed now...
Th' more complicated they make the plumbin', the easier it tis to stop up th' drain.
Anyone else mildly relieved that this will likely be the last manned US jet fighter?
The F-35 is already coming along behind it.

I would be very surprised if they were comparing the EF and the F-22 from the starting point that they may somehow be on the same level. As far as I know, the EF is a very nice general purpose jet, and the F-22 is a very very nice, very specialised jet.
EF would be a good partner for F-22 though, and I think they would be suitable for training as well (playing the bad guy).
