Those dates are indicative of a time field associated with the article that somehow got set to zero, which in the Unix epoch is the first second of 1970, UTC/GMT.

That one was already solved three decades ago, when some gas pumps couldn't go above two digits. They just started charging by the half-gallon. The USA may see liter-pricing yet.
