    For me, birthdays used to be great. Always something to look forward to!

    This last one broke the mold. It was the date my wife left me and filed for divorce.

    Seems to me I heard that if you gather people together, you only need to have about 24 of them to find it likely two people in the group will share the same birthday.

    Ever notice in restaurants they no longer sing the Happy Birthday song we all grew up on? They all now clap and sing this ditty:

    Happy happy birthday
    From the Dingy Diner crew.

    KNow why?

    The people who hold the copyright to the original "Happy Birthday to You" enforce their copyright and charge royalties to anyone who uses the song commercially. That includes restaurant staffs. "Happy Birthday to You" is not in the public domain. Restaurants do not want to pay to sing a birthday greeting to their patrons so they came up with a generic one.
