    I want to make the point in my book that the different Doppler effects at different points on Earth were proof there was no 'phantom relay' satellite out in space sending a faked signal. The signal would have to be faked so it has different Doppler at different reception sites, which is impossible.

    The velocities involved would be Earth rotation rate (1500 km/hr at equator) and lunar orbit rate (5000 km/hour, either positive or negative depending on setting or rising).

    For S-band, say 2300 MHz, how big would the frequency shift be for a 6500 km/hour (say, 2 km/sec) closing rate?

    It would be pretty small. For such a non-relativistic speed, it would be approximately:
    <u>__2 km/s_____</u> * 2,300 MHz * 2= ~.3 MHz
    300,000 km/s

    You ought to contact Mike Dinn in Australia. I'm sure he could give you the answers.

    Mike Dinn was my first choice, too, but he says his sources and his notebooks are out of reach right now.

    Googling for "EME doppler" turns up a multitude of sites, mostly dealing with programs that calculate doppler for amateur radio frequency correction. Here's a couple I found on a quick search:

    http://www.qsl.net/pa0ply/eme2.htm

    http://www.n1bug.net/prop/eme.html

    searching for "EME" or "moonbounce" should eventually provide you with enough info. IIRC, the ARRL publication, "The Radio Amateur's Satellite Handbook
    " ( http://www.arrl.org/catalog/?categor...ellites&words= )has a section dealing with the Moon.

    the link should take you to a doppler
    and from there YOU SHOULD be able
    to link back to the start of this thread?

    1 reCALL? it was E.C. Snyder that explained
    to me that while he was at Menlo With Edison
    3 the main reason he left was Radio
    Edison did not believe in Radio at the TIME
    {these link lines are blank}
    {at least for now}(maybe 4ever)?
    7 so the eye to eye was (T.E.)no /{E.C.S} yes/ Me?
    I do not know {my standard replies time to vote No}
    heres my logic I did go to thak this test
    for 2 meters {Money} so sure I did buy FSR
    2 for 20 as I recall it was advertised 4TWO miles Range
    I get 2 blocks or ten bucks/block now i see 5 advertized
    But U&I {no} its just **. MORE Jk. Under enforcement by.. Now on with My plan 4Ag
