not liking the "last page" thing

so okay, for reasons having to do with keeping track of what I've read and what I haven't, I click on the last page of the thread I'm going to read and, if necessary, click back to the last page I've read, then use the back button on my mouse to go forward.

here's the thing--when I click on "last page," it automatically sends me to the last post, which means I have to scroll up to get to the actual numbers. what's worse (because, yes, I could just stop doing that), it's not necessarily the last unread post, either. just the last post in the thread. can we do something about that? (we, in this instance, meaning you guys.)

On the forum page this icon takes you to the last post in a thread. The similar icon pointing down (see post below - stupid img restriction) takes you to the first new post in a thread.

Also at the top of each page is a link to take you to the first unread post in that thread.

The 2 worst things about phpBB are:

    - You don't know what topics you've posted in.
    - They're damn slow
    - The preset smileys are junk
    - They look ugly

(OK, I know that's 4...I kept on thinking of more things to winge about...)

I wasn't actually aware you could use the shortcut to the most previously viewed post on phpBB until a few months ago, so that would have been on that list as well. :P

    with regards

    I like the smilies....

I don't like how you can't just search for topic title though...

    Thats about it for me

    - The preset smileys are junk
    - They look ugly
    Matter of opinion

    - You don't know what topics you've posted in.
    Just search for your name...

That will change once the search index is reconstructed. It's a rather intensive operation, so be patient, it'll be fixed.

It is convenient, though, to be able to see a quick graphical representation while viewing the forum itself to see where you've posted.

If you run your cursor over that icon it will tell you how many times you have posted in that thread (depending on your browser settings.)
