    Hello everyone

    Hi everyone,

I came across this site by accident, and somehow got to reading the Moon Man threads.

Now, I'm a regular poster on a few forums and I've seen one-sided arguments aplenty in my time, but never have I seen someone get their posterior handed to them on a plate as badly as that.

As it's the 40th anniversary, I've been watching a lot of documentaries on the Apollo flights, and I never fail to be awestruck by what an achievement it was, and what amazing people the astronauts are.

    PD

    Hi everyone,
I have finally run out of astronomycast episodes to download and am working my way through the UT episodes so I thought I would sign up here as well.
Look forward to learning and contributing (more learning actually).

I am approaching 50 and have renewed a passion for astronomy and physics that began in my teens. Just need to fund a new scope and make some time for some trips out of the city (Sydney, Australia).

  8. Smile The astronomical Earth and the human eye

To: Bad Astronomy and universe Forum Members

    From: Dr. EMAD KAYYAM
    M.B.B.CH, G.P – Independent Researcher
    AMMAN – JORDAN.

    http://www.scribd.com/people/documen...dr-emad-kayyam

Subject: a new view of a possible relationship between "astronomical Earth and human Eye anatomy" may help to understand the mechanism of function of Stonehenge Circa and a strong connection between "the internal ear and the spiral galaxies" may unveil the hidden interaction between the human body and the universe.

    Hello…

My name is EMAD KAYYAM a medical doctor from Jordan . Accidentally in my late years of schooling medicine (1999) I start a self effort research in the anatomy and astronomy based on the similarity I observed between the Eyeball and the Earth ball as a planet in 3 major categories the shape, tilt and motions.

The astonishing similar sign between the two suspended spheroid bodies (the earth ball and the eye ball) is that both of them chare the same angular tilt which is 23.5 degrees of their central axes from the axes of their orbits motivates me to independently surf this domain even I report the observations to many scientific parties.

After many years following this unique similarity I find that this similarity or link is not coincidence! And that “ STONEHENGE CIRCA” the archaeological megalith found in the United Kingdome which proved by many academic missions that its work like an astronomical calendar was built according to an anatomical designation which is in fact a horizontal section in the human Eyeball.

According to the analogy which I formerly described this is very easy to understand that’s because the phenomena which Stonehenge predicts like summer solstice, ordering the days in the year, etc…. is primarily caused by Earth tilt which is similar to the Eyeball tilt.
Kindly See "Human Eye Solar Earth Analogy as a Stonehenge Code" at the following link:
    http://www.scribd.com/people/documen...dr-emad-kayyam

Recently also I finished my figured article: "Travel through Time by Riding the Sound".

This study tries to explain how contrary to the ordinary look that a travel through time needs a sound wave rather than a light beam by comparing the evolutionary process that happen in galaxies from the early to the late Universe by an insight and careful look to the internal Ear system in the human body.
You can find my Articles at the following URL:

    http://www.scribd.com/people/documen...dr-emad-kayyam

I am sure that one day this kind of research will find an approach and access to the scientific stream since only it cost a fine analysis carried on by keen observers who need the simplest of means to gather enormous amount of knowledge compared to the space exploration programs that cost millions.

I Hope all my friends in Bad Astronomy and universe Forum send me there comments and opinions regarding these new observations and concepts.

    Thank You mush,
    EMAD

    Hi all!

I'm a newbie here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm not much of a forum user but I found this site through a Google search of Planetary Alignment; read a few threads and thought this looked like a good place to join. I just hope I have something worthwhile to contribute!

So I'm a n00b here and am going to introduce myself. Then, being a n00b, I'll go criticize something.

I was sent to the BA site a few weeks ago and have been reading like mad. Things like, "Yes the moon DOES spin, you...&^&$%*(*&!!!" are arguments I've gotten into ever since third grade when Mr. Tilly refused to acknowledge that the moon spins. It was nice to see the discussions well presented. I wish this resource had been around when I was still in school. (Many moons ago... )

Anyway, great stuff here! Thanks for having me.

    Hi DurocShark, and welcome!

Be careful with switching characters to represent swear words. It's against rules here, though I imagine you're ok on what you put above. Great site, aint it? Anyway, hello to you, and Emad, who I notice wasn't formally welcomed before my post, and also has some pretty interesting ideas.

    Have a lovely day!

    Welcome tarantulla!

There's all sorts of professions here - I train monkeys as pick-pockets. (I'm kidding, don't send Interpol)

I'm sure you'll bump into a few interesting people in your travels here.

    Hey everyone!

Found this website after spending a few bored days at work following Apollo Hoax websites and videos (Hey... I was bored at work and I find crackpots entertaining at times). Glad to see there's people dedicated to trying to set them straight.

Anyways, this site and reading about the moon has my astronomy bug going again. Just picked up my Grandpa's Newtonian reflector (Celestron Comet Catcher) and a few eye pieces (7mm 18mm and 28mm). It had some issues with the rack focus but I think I have it worked out. I'm excited to get it out to look at the sky again, but alas it is rainy and cloudy tonight.

So hello everyone! Hope to be spending some time here learning a bit more about telescopes, and interesting objects to observe.

  19. #2809
    hi aacmckay welcome aboard.

    Hello BAUT Forum!

I've been listening to Astronomy Cast for a year and a while now, and it has single-handedly made me into an astronomy nerd. I am a complete newbie, and I tend to stumble around the night sky like a tourist, constantly checking my map for where I am, but I'm getting there. I came to the podcast and Phil's blog from the SGU and other skeptical sites.

I think I am nearly done listening to all of the AC episodes (I didn't listen to them in a linear fashion, but rather sampling here and there, so I am not entirely sure), and some I have listened to numerous times. They have led me to seek out other science lectures and courses to listen to on my MP3 player.

Much thanks to Pamela, Fraser, Phil, and all of those people investing time into science education online. I was an artsy kid who got a crappy science education in high school and was for years happy with that. In discovering science through new media I have been given a chance to make that right, and in doing so I've discovered an entirely new lens to see the universe through, and it is truly (and literally) awesome. While still far from being eloquent in my understanding of some concepts and fields, I feel as though I am at least not scientifically illiterate now, which I suppose I was.

    Thank you BA and AC!

I've been wanting to learn the stars when i was young but life got in the way...
I'm here now. where do i go?

oh. what got me here was Astronomy Cast. Thanks to Fraser and Pamela for bringing me this way.

    Hi!

I have been lurking in these forums for a while now, but in order to view attached pictures etc I had to become a member, and the polite thing to do is introduce myself I guess.

I have been interested in astronomy since I was about 10 years old (33 now). I have a 1000/200mm Skywatcher newtonian reflector that has served me well. Recently I have bought a Canon 400D. Really looking forward to hooking it up to my scope and learning about astrophotography. These forums are a great resource!

    Cheers!
