Hi! I'm Mariana, a stargazer from Portugal
Hi guys !
I'm a new amateur from Brussels, Belgium ( French speaking ).
I've just bought my first telescope: a skywatcher "newton" 130/900.
Hi mavA and Cedric H.
Howdy,
I'm a software security practitioner in NY. Ever since my first episode of Star Trek, I've been fascinated with all that lies beyond the Earth. But I haven't had much luck in locating quality resources for entry-level enthusiasts such as myself. That is, until a friend introduced me to BAUT. I'm thrilled about the wealth of information I've found here, the strong encouragement of sound rational reasoning, and the chance to interact with some of the best minds working in the field. Beam me up, Scottie![]()
Welcome to BAUT. Energize!
Hi all.
My name is José aka Zé. I'm from Portugal and I study engeneering.
I have been a reader of Universe Today for quite some time but only now noticed what a great forum/community you guys have here.
Keep the good work.
Welcome Havok aka Jose, aka Ze![]()
Hi, my name is David Oliva. I am 27 years old from Long Island, New York. Nice to meet you all.
Nice to meet you djoliva. I like the photos in your signature.
Hello To All
This is my first post here
Is this the introduction hello place.
Hi, BOZO. I used to watch you on TV when I was a little kid. You were a funny clown, but a little scary.
Welcome to the BAUT Forum.
This subforum is Questions and Answers and it's a place to ask technical questions about space and astronomy. It's not really for introductions. Perhaps a kind moderator will move this.
A good place for introductions is over in the Off-Topic Babbling subforum, in topic: Introduce Yourself.
Well I'm not new, but it's been a heckuva long time since I posted last, so a re-introduction seems proper.Hopefully I won't get dragged away for so long again in the future.
djoliva, I like your sig photos too!
So [BOZO] moved ... (am not sure about how kind I am though ...)

Why else would I keep looking for answers such as:-
ds^2=x^2+y^2
This is from a poster called DoYouKnow who is studying the structure of the human brain. The metric described is remarkable, much like looking at a flat picture using x and y co-ordinates giving it the look of pushing it in depth to a full 3D description.
Alright I don't really know 'how' kind you are but I don't hear any complaints either.
Cheers
Some of the other mods have taken new "introduction" threads such as these and added them to the Introduce Yourself! sticky, while deleting the new intro thread to eliminate redundancy.
Meanwhile, welcome to the BAUT, BOZO! Carl Sagan used you as a reference.
Read the FAQs, especially the rules, and have fun.
So merged.
Hi, I'm ginnie. I'm a member of the Apollohoax.net forum. Thought I'd see what's happening over here...
Hi ginnie.

Hi Guys,
My name's Stewart, and I'm a sound editor from Glasgow, Scotland.
Hello, I'm Nina from Ireland and I'm a gamma ray astronomer for the summer, before I go back to being a physics and astronomy undergrad. How's everyone doing?
Hi there Stouff and pilgrim..welcome aboard![]()
Hello! I used to be on the board a few years back, and am glad to have rediscovered it.I'm a physics undergraduate student, interested in astronomy and plasma physics and aerospace. Nice to meet you all!
Random fact 'generator': I'm fond of anime, rabbits, and ninjasand will probably sell paintings if a career in science doesn't work out, hehe.
Howdy Aiwe. And howdy pilgrim (I should have a John Wayne accent when I say that). You may be interested to known that there are several other physics and astronomy undergrads among our ranks; Andromeda321 is one.
Hey.... I'm Lei from CHINA!
hi there Lei. Welcome aboard![]()
I live in Denver, CO (actually Lakewood, a suburb). Are there any local star grazers out there? I enjoy trying to locate and identify the constellations and watching the shows the sky puts on for us like the metor showers coming up and the total eclipse of the moon. I would like to hear from all of you other night sky watchers!
Welcome aboard! The BA himself (link provided in case you don't know who I'm talking about) doesn't live too far from you in Boulder. We've got lots of skywatchers around here from all over the world too.
You've come to the right place then![]()
