Hello everyone!

I'm a CS student from Poland. I've been interested in space for as long as I can remember, recently got my first telescope and I'm still learning how to use it, but enjoying every moment.

I recently joined Cosmoquest to count some craters in my spare time, and it looks like I arrived just in time to be assimilated by the BAUT

I'm a space enthusiast in Queensland, Australia. I'm 41 and work for myself. Never got into the observational side but like the theoretical stuff. Not that I don't enjoy looking at the stars out here away from the city. Once saw a meteorite explode into 3 pieces. Each piece a different colour. Doubt I'll ever see that again.

Just spent the day trying to get my new wireless modem to work. Very scatty reception out here even with an antenna. Just extended it to the limit of the coaxial cable using an old roof rack and a broom handle. Finally working. Might lose you if the wind changes direction but I have a connection for now. Albeit a slow one.

Hello one and all...my name is Charlie, I'm from Dayton, and I've decided to reestablish myself on a couple of forums I haven't been on in years...
I've reestablished myself on the JREF board, and now have done the same here.

For various reasons related to my emotional health, I decided to come back and interact with a larger circle of folk, even if it's just on teh intertubes.
I'm a longtime stargazer, I do outreach/educational work with the local astro society, and have had the distinct pleasure to hear (and dine with) the BA his own
self on two occasions. It will take awhile to find out just what's what on here, but it will be a good thing for me to kick in on a couple of topics on a small scale
to start. Hopefully this will help me keep the bills to my friendly local pshrink at a minimum.

If you remember me, I hope it's fondly. If we've never met, hi there...what's up?

'Twill take a bit to figger out where to dip a toe into the waters, and of course getting back into the philosophical/educational/technical bent will take a bit more time, but yeah, the intent is to make some solid contributions. Just gotta get back into the swing of things after an extended 'time out'...

Saw CiD's mention on FWIS that he's returned, decided to take a poke around.

Another of the Old Guard back for a look around... not sure how long it will last as I am now doing an Astronomy PhD at the University of Amsterdam doing too many things with my time already, but worth a poke around.

Pleased to report that I'm hitting up country #50 in under two weeks, when I'll be exploring Iceland on my way to visit family in the USA. I'm super excited!

just browsed a but. and boggled somewhat over a graph. Cute gaussians certainly, with very pretty peaks, but am I actually reading the scale correctly and a GPS's time will be two MINUTES off if the elevation is 50 meters wrong?

Hello all! My names Jerry. I'm very new here and not up to speed yet. I'll be looking around while I learn the rules. I have a long history as an avid observer and astrophotographer. All the way back to the film and cold camera days. Anyone remember hypersensitizing Kodak 2415? You don't hit elementary school in the Sputnik era without being fed science. I didn't take the Phd track but have a lifelong love of the night sky and all things space. Looking forward to discussions on all matter of things.
