    Hello.

I'm a boy from Boston. I've always enjoyed reading about space and astronomy, and have learned about it mostly through many, many hours of reading Wikipedia.

I think this site is a wonderful place to discuss my interest, and so I decided to join.

    Hi ToddG, welcome at BAUT.
This forum is just to introduce yourself, and not for questions. Therefore, I copied your question to Q&A.
    Have fun here.

    Hello all.

I've been a lurker on and off for a few years and figured it was time to actually create an account. I'm 24 years old and live in the great? state of Maryland, USA. I moved here from New York, where I've spent the majority of my life, after graduating from college last June.

My degree is in Computer Engineering, but I have always loved math and physics and wish I had had the time to take more of those classes in college. I am constantly amazed at the wealth of knowledge the members of this board possess and look forward to taking advantage of it as much as I can!

    Regards,

    Erik

    Hello

Found your forum doing Google search on 'Draconis conjunctions'. Not sure if Astrology qualifies as bad Astronomy, but will give it a try!

    Introducing myself

Hello. I am a grad student from Russia. I am not interested much in the astronomy per se, but I find very amusing certain techonology achievements which could make space trabel easy and fast -- such as gas core nuclear rocket engines, etc. Looking forward to discussing nuclear rocket engines with enthusiasts here.

Also, I am an active contributor to a Russian political resource (the link is to its English section). Feel free to join and contribute.

    Moderator note:
Welcome to BAUT. I will let the link in, but please note that there is limits on politics here.
    Have fun.

Welcome, filatovev. Especially in the sections of the forum to do with space travel you'll find some discussions that are close to what is allowed here, considering that political discussion is severely limited here (as tusenfem noted above).

    Hello,

I'm an astrophysicist, although I began as an aircraft design engineer scholastically. I posted last night, when I joined, to a Yellowstone Caldera thread that linked from Bing. Not that I think it's going to blow, but because I'm speculating that it may have been errupting for perhaps 500 years. I'm nearly 60, so qualify as "The Old Dude." My current work projects are hopefully innovative. Since I build my own inventive prototypes, maybe some new ground can break... hopefully not the park for a while

    Hi every one.

  16. #3976
Hello! I'm Bill, from perpetually overcast upstate New York. Though my passion is wrist watches (I Moderate on a watch collector's site) my first love is Astronomy. I was introduced to it when a little comet named Hale-Bopp payed us a visit a while ago. I own a 5" SCT, 4.5" reflector, 70mm refractor, 25 X 100 binocs (with tripod), and 2 spotting scopes. I also subscribe to 2 major American astronomical magazines.
With the help of all the members I hope to continue learning, and, maybe even get to where I can contribute as well.

    Hi all,

I'm a 47 year old male from Western New York. A novice to the hobby. Just ordered a Mead 12" Lightbridge Dobsonian that should be here by the end of next weekend. Can't wait for the first light experience with this light bucket
Also ordered the Hotech SCA collimator. The scope only comes with one 26mm EP so I'll be looking for guidance on some good EPs

What an awesome site this is!

Hello all, I've been interested in Astronomy ever since I was a little boy, and now that I'm getting older, 23, It's really a strong passion of mine. I don't own any telescopes, and I'm still very, very naive when it comes to our Universe. My goal is to learn as much as possible, and hopefully one day be an amateur astronomer like many of you are! My name is Brenton, thank you for letting me be a part of your fantastic community!
