Welcome back Marsdriver!
Hi everyone, long time BA reader here, just starting to get involved.
I'm not an astronomer of any sort, I just find myself interested in, well, everything. Particularly the technology involved in big-science projects like the LHC, Hubble, and all the probes and space-based observatories we've ever launched.
Hi Tones, this is just the place for you.![]()
Hello everyone! I'm Myugen and I'm new here. I like astronomy and physics. I'm a girl and I live in the boring state of Arizona.
hello
I am not specialised but i have few Qs
Thanks
Welcome aboard Myugen and Foreign.
Hi, I am Frank, and enjoy astronomy and cosmology, I am interested in both Main Stream ( the boys with the biggest toys) and Plasma Cosmology. I even like the fringe concepts of EU. I was involved in a forum, much like an old west frontier style saloon. But am now seeking another forum to participate in, Solon has a user name there and was driving me nuts with his proselytizing, I like how he was dealt with here. So I thought a little law and order might be a nice respite. I'm not here to push EU, but more mellow pursuits of seeing how aspects of Plasma Cosmology might be finding levels of acceptance in the main stream science discussions. Thanks to Solon on the other forum, I found I have an interest in space probe optical instrumentation.
I can't remember if I have ever been a registered user in BAUT, so if I am registered as another user, its not intentional. If you want to search it out, I will assist in any way I can. I might be confused with a physics.org forum.
Thanks
Frank
Welcome fosborn. Don't worry about old logins, as long as you don't use both at the same time.. an old forgotten one isn't a problem. We try to stay away from making things personal, but I do remember that user coming here with the wacky ideas of some indian guy. It didn't go well. As for plasma cosmology... well, there's a sticky thread in the Against The Mainstream forum that might provide some helpful reading.

chayisheng here from Daly City. Big Hockey game here tonight. I think hockey is boring. I am trying to learn about telescopes and rocket ships. Peace
I am shy.
Hi and bye, but I don't know why.
(Sock).
Get up, a get-get, get down.
I'm a real fan of the history channel and the Ancient Aliens Series. Everything seems to be associated with astronomy so I thought I'd check out the current thinking. RobtC
Willkommen!
Hi Guys - Dave from South Africa here! Im a businessman from an accounting background by occupation, and a real frustrated scientist/engineer/astronomer in my spare time. If i won the lotto - first thing id do is go to study science!
Anyway im off to the bushveld (our wilderness) next week, will try post some starry southern sky pics!
Hi.
Originate from Cardiff, Wales. Love the show.
Welcome to BAUT, Dave and caerdydd! And Dave, several of us here would also love to see some great wildlife pics, so do carry the camera in the daytime too!![]()

Hi there.
Im an amateur scifi writer from Brazil. I am trying to learn more about the universe and in my google searches found this forum. Hopefully I will learn a lot here from you guys.
There are many people from Brazil here including Argos. Welcome! Must be great living near the equator where you can see both southern and northern constellations.
I m afif from Ctg Bangladesh, 25 years old male, how r you all frindzzzzzz...........
My name is Andy, I'm 30 and from the south coast of England (West Sussex), very near the legend that is Sir Patrick Moore.
I stubbled across this forum while looking for ideas on how to encourage the interests of my young nephew. This was after he took one look at my telescope and his eyes lit up with the magic only kids can muster.
From there i just got lost with inspiration and thoughts reading all the extremely interesting threads... I'm going to be on here alot more often...
So hello!
Welcome, Andy.

Hi, I'm Ashen.
I'd like to call myself a space enthusiast but I've barely done enough to assert that status.
If I may be so bold, I created a thread called 'an attempt to understand Special Relativity', which fully explain my woes (I hope), and if you can take a look in there and tell me what I'm doing wrong, that would be great.
Thank you!
Hello, all. I'm David, a 62 y/o North American. I have registered primarily to have a group of astronomical skeptics critique my UFO sighting. As a near life long astronomy buff and believer in science, I am hard-pressed to explain it to myself.
I am not sure if I should post the account in CT or ATM, or elsewhere. Maybe a mod can let me know....
hi, my name is Adam and im 20 years old from Middlesbrough, UK. I decided to register as my uncle also uses this website and introduced me to it very recently.
I hope I can learn a lot from the forum, and perhaps provide some knowledge i have gained on potential near encounters with large meteors.
looking forward to getting stuck in!
Hi Ashen, David and Adam! Welcome to BAUT! Hope you enjoy your stay here. (Let's see which Brit responds the most kindly to your posts, Adam)

hi folks,
i'm paul, in my 40s, moved to australia from germany a few years ago.
i studied math & physics in germany. professionally, i am a freelance software designer, working mostly on medical instruments (measuring of physiological signals and performing digital signal processing on them). physics has been a passion for me since i was 12. i read a (layman's) book about the philosophical implications of quantum physics and i was hooked for life. haven been following physics (incl. astrophysics) since i finished my studies until this day.
i am very aware, however, that the human mind is not really designed to understand the universe.
we really know little to nothing and most of what we believe to know for certain is subject to radical change...
i have been reading baut for a while and i am de-lurking now.
