I know the movie 'I, Robot' opened today, and I saw the preview when I went to see 'The Day After Tomorrow'. It looks BIG. I don't go see movies much, and I wait until there is a big effects film to go. So, since I am pretty busy this week, I won't see Will Smith kick Robot Butt right away, and it would be nice if any of you do, please try not to give too much away in your posts.

Just before I saw 'Titanic', some enthusiastic "friends" gave away the fact that the ship sank and a lot of the folks didn't make it. That just about ruined the whole surprise ending for me.

The LA Times gave it a bad review. Then again, they always end up givig the good scifi's a bad review. It's a habit. But I know, I can tell, that this movie is gonna be GOOD!! Once again, Will Smith provides his own scifi July.

I always look at the IMDB to get an idea about whether a film's any good because the reviews are written by the public. Apart from a few exceptions, I find I get a much better idea of whether I'd like the film by reading their words, rather than some pretentious critic. (Apart from anything else, some of the reviews on the IMDB are rather amusing LOL)

I looked at the I, Robot review last night... it's average score was about 6 / 10 but the reviews were quite positive. Basically, it's a good, no-brainer sci-fi romp. If you want to have a deep, intellectual discussion on humanity and what makes someone (or something) human, go see Blade Runner :P

Did you get to see the film Tom? I went with one of my sons to see it last Thursday while still in Cuenca. Have you read the book? The story is practically nonsense - if Isaac were to raise his head he would promptly lay down again out of disgust for what they have gone & done with his story!

I went o it expecting it would lose quite a bit going from book to big screen.
Hey 2 hours is not a lot of time to tell a story like that.

It was pretty good considering what had to be left out. It helps to read the book first though. I wouldn't want to see it without that base.

    7 out of 10.
