Thread: Anyone see the rocket reentry Sat. night???

    Looked pretty spectacular from the tape shown on CNN Sunday morning. Reported by folks anywhere from Texas to Nebraska, from what I understand. Slow moving, multi parts burning, sparks flying. . . Just wondering if anyone has eyewitness accounts of the event.

    And does anyone know which specific satellite it was?

    According to the news, it was a spent last stage of a russian rocket. This according to NORAD. No mention of how long it had been in orbit as far as I've seen. . .

    Evidently it was the remains of a Proton rocket re-entering after a launch some hours earlier.
