It's a pretty big number. We should probably hit 40K posts at the one-year anniversary of the forum in July.
For the number geeks like me, that averages at 12 and a half posts for each member LOL
Wow...so much for my >200 posts!...![]()
LOL Don't knock it... nearly 250 posts in just under a month is very respectable!
Oh..well, thanx, dh :blushing:
I checked the Top Ten User List Just now...it said over today's course there were 177 posts. then I checked the main forum page, it said 27677 posts. I think its cool that the day started exactly on the 27500th post...quite interesting.
Though, I'm not sure if this appeals to anyone else...so I apologize for taking your time. If there's one thing DH has taught me today, it's being humble online.![]()

27600....what a milestone.
Now its 27860....from 27600.
Time elapsed: May 17 2004, 06:28 PM - May 19, 1:06 am. That's about a day and a quarter...
Number of Additional Posts: 27600 - 27860. That's 260 posts! WOW!
Usually what is the average number of post per day?![]()
What's this? About 28300 posts! WOW!
And now, just to add to the big numbers, we have just passed 2200 members, Yaaaay!
28350 posts, and counting...
Its pretty amazing, that a lot of the posts and threads in here are like encyclopaedias, a truly viable research resource!
Congratulations, Fraser, for a job well done.Originally posted by fraser@May 17 2004, 06:37 PM

The number of postings reflects the real need for open discussions of observations, measurements on the universe today, and interpretations of those findings.
I expect others will start copying your methods!
With kind regards,

Yes, the number is impressive taking into account the subject matter but...
I'm also a member on one other site about aquariums, it started about 3 years ago and has nealry 500,000 posts with about 6500 members. The counting method on that site though doesn't count several 'off topic' or waffle forums. I would classify this thread in such category therefore the post count on this site would be less if such procedure is used. Not complaining though, just different ways of keeping statistics.
p.s. entries into 'off topic' or waffle threads don't count in personal stats either.
