I have read before on numerous occasions that moonquakes are infrequently recorded - what is the cause of these? and are there any other places that experiences quakes.

I know Earth, Venus, Io and Triton experience volcanic activity, but I am wondering about quakes.

Quakes are likely caused by structural instabilities (settling), reaction of the crust with thermal dynamism (vulcanism), or impacts from celestial objects (collision) against the surface. In pulsars it may be changes of state similar to forming various crystalline structure in materials with multistates of crystallization. In active stars and substellar objects it may be manifestations of sonic energy commensurate with the tendency of the material to harbor resonances.

I never thought of that - star-quakes so to speak, but it makes sense.

I wonder if interactions such as Io and Jupiter result in quakes in Jupiter alongside the volcanism on Io...
