Since theres discussion here about time travel i thought it would be amusing but ultimately interesting to point out this website that has mounted up a collection of posts by a poster who claimed to be from the future,i read it and found the whole thing a great read and story although i believe it to be a hoax its worth a look.

The website points to various links which have where the poster posted so you can read it as it was,the site is edited in that it shows only what this john titor said.

Did you look at the photographs of the supposed time machine? It looks like parts from some hillbilly's garage. Besides the inconsistancy of the story, the pictures are simply ridiculous. I suppose it's a fairly elaborate hoax. I'll give it that.

Well i can actually live with all that,what i cant quiet grasp is the fact his two-black-hole time machine was supposed to weigh
500 pounds,that gives maybe 100kg for each black hole,hmmnn :blink: that would last all of 10 seconds or so.

Though that said it is supposed to be future technology so its not always wise to dismiss it however improbable and it could be just poorly explained,like he says something along the lines of "does an airline pilot know the inner physical workings of the aeroplane,does he need to?"
The anser is a clear NO,many people can operate a TV or computer with only minimal understanding whats actualy going on.

I dismiss it on whats more likely.

I applaud people like this cos you know it has to be well planned,it was well planned,i also get the impression it was a sociological experiment done in a university,in fact im 99% convinced this is the case cos of the effort that went into it,whoever it was didnt strike me as some complete nutjob or hillbilly.

Let's also not forget what tidal forces would do to any given size motorvehicle. If a run of the mill APC can't withstand the forces, his old Chevy Malibu won't either.

Yes but would it be wise to do so even if it worked,alot of people dont even consider this,if it works any number of things could happen.

You get dragged 1000 years into the future,learn they wont send you back,the money you have accumilated from interest is now meaningless and they decide to do weird experiments on you safe in the knowledge that from the rest of the world you are invisible,you disapeared 1000 years ago according to records,they could put a bullet in your brain right there and then without any problems.

Either way youre in a strange place with no friends or family and god knows what else,youd be the equilavent of a primate in present time.

$10 of curiosity,they say that killed the cat.

Hell perhaps thats what alien abductions really are,id not want to force the issue by advertising.
