    We're still over 400 away from the magic 10,000 number but my money's on damienpaul not only posting the vast majority of those 400 (say, about 350 of them ) but also getting the 10,000th post itself :P

    Nah Murphy's law dictates that I will write the 9999th or the 10001st...so when we reach that threshhold - party at Frasers???? will he buy us ice creams???

    Damn right - limos are cheap in Canada... well... when I had one to/from Toronto Airport it was only $10 more than a cab...

    We're getting close people... just over 200 to go now...

    I'd love to see a comment about the above post from a mod or someone. It's an obvious spam BUT: The account was registered more than a year ago, the post was to a nine-year-old thread, and while the spammer was banned, the post, including the link, was left up. What's going on?

    The post must have been accidentally approved. Stuff happens. Now the post is deleted and they are banned.

    UT did. The change in name was 2005, this thread was 2003.

    EDIT - This appear to be the thread with UT's 10,000 post. BUT the author of this thread was likely reading the counter on the main page which would have been different than Espritch's thread starting post here.

    Wow. I'm a little surprised it hadn't reached 10,000 posts that late in 2003. I had thought there would have been more posts by then. It's amusing there are 32 posters now that have each exceeded that individually.

    Oh, one bit of weirdness: The OP was supposedly posted on December 20, 2003, but damienpaul's join date is February 2004. Time travellers really should be more careful about this sort of thing. It looks like he went back a bit so he could get that comment in before the ten thousandth post. Yeesh, it just isn't worth risking timeline corruption for something trivial like that.

    I wonder if during one of the mergers, if some dates didn't get scrambled. The BABB was using a different forum software for a while, then in '05 the UT and BA merged. Something had to break at some point.
