I finally got around to watching a movie I had recorded this weekend. It had a robot from the future controlled by an evil computer built by the US army that wants to kill all life on earth. Humanity is saved by a young boy who believes that the robot is more than just a machine, altering the machine's programming and thwarting the evil computer's plan.

from 1957. (You were expecting one of the Terminator movies?) Anyone else seen this? I almost skipped watching it as the title and description did not make it seem all that worthwhile.
The only twist they could have added was to have the robot stay in the rocket and travel to the stars, to return in 22?? whatever where he was greeted in Chicago.
