    I got the house!

    Heck Yeah.

The only problem is, the business right out my back yard has a huge arc lamp running all night.

But, it's nice. I was sure the house was the expensive part, but I learned different...

Congrats man. May it be a little while before your first "well, that's the price of owning a home"

And hopefully it will be no worse than, "Man, I gotta mow the lawn!"

Congratulations. Wishing you many happy times, and no insane neighbors.

Congratulations! Owning a home was the american dream, for me anyway.

Funny you should mention that. My house was new construction. One year to the month after it was completed it had SEVEN trees laying on it - toppled by hurrican Ivan. The trees are gone and the damage to the structure has been pretty much repaired. I'm still working on the backyard though, I have one more stump to dig out and then I'll need to bring in a lot of sand to level everything and plant new grass.

All the work is worth it though.

Congrats. We are also soon to become official land owners as well.

A good BB gun can take care of that light for you.

Ha! Nearly seven years later I can almost appreciate some of the humor on this thread . I've since lost the house in the "bubble" that over valued homes. Goes to show humans always tend to think something "can never happen."

Mowing the lawn!!! Jeeze. LOL. I now have an appartment. SIGH! Relief.

Good to hear, Travis, that you came through it with a sense of humor. I only hope I can tell a joke the moment that I pass away.

Glad that arc lamp is no longer bothering you

Even there I resolved a double star with my plastic scope... I also used binoculars to show the neighborhood the moons of Jupiter... Now I have this apartment near a military base... (I see I still like using ellipsis....) I can still show people around me the wonder of the universe.
