I Am Bender. Please Insert CD.

Check this out! It's a PC modded to look like Bender! The site's in Norwegian, so I've got no idea what it's saying but if you click "Neste Side" it'll take you to the next page. There's a pretty detailed break down of how the guy built the case using photographs. And apparently, it does say, "Bite my shiney metal ***."

Now that is really incredible. A computer that runs on alcohol, steals your money, and bails out just when you need it.

But still can be very cute!

Sounds like Gates had the concept down but failed to implement the hardware, baby!

That was funny, and I can actually read it. Not that the text says much more then what the pictures shows anyway. Norwegean and Swedish are so similar that to me it looks like badly spelled swedish. :P

A friend of mine from Sweden had some rather snarky comments about how Norwegian sounds to his ears.

Then there's the stuff from Finland. I find that every time I try to read something written in that language I can start OK but I can't finish.

Customer: "Waiter, there's soup on my fly! What's it doing there?"

Waiter: "Treating you with disdain, it would appear."

Actually Bender is one heck of an efficient computer, since he runs off a single 3 1/2" floppy disc! Remove the disc and all you have left is the "I am Bender, please insert girder." BIOS.

Not only that, but his CPU is a 6502 (watch as the neutrino x-ray passes over his head - I don't remember the episode name).

I loved my Apple II+, but really!

Yeah, but do realize the aureal density 3.5"ers will have in a thousand years? (Judging by the technological progress demonstrated in the rest of the series... maybe triple #-o )

Toon had that one last night. I was wondering if any one caught that (before).
It just goes to show that some reaserch is done for the show.

C64 also had the 6502 (IIRC).

As did the Rockwell AIM64 or was it called the AIM 65/40. Single line LED display and a paper roll!

    Assembly programming is fun!

Sorry this is off topic, but I just had to quote Tuckerfan's comment from six months ago. (bolding mine)

I looked for a translator like Babel fish, and this was the best I can do with it,

"No matter all our arbeidsloger am drab boxes and vannkjøling. Konstruktøren at TUX - cabinet beats now make off Futurama - the diagram Bender in full of bulge.

Bizardos plan am a at they a few actual genuine features in workloggavdelingen our and am any they absolute able call by name one shame finish kind ". We in Overklokking.no has choosed to accentuate Bizardos plan exactly because originality and achievement. Plan ought be one of innspirasjon to all at to brew anything else than only standard boxes. Commodity as follows am typed at Bizardo herself , so he chooses to present her Plan Bender. We in Overklokking.no can't different than return thanks for that you fragments facts along with us , and hope we shall see additional at you afterwards."

    Hehe.

It could probably be translated to something like:

"Not All our worklogs are boring cases and watercooling. The creator of the TUX-case is back with the Futurama character Bender, life-size.

Bizardo's is one of the few really original projects to feature in our worklog section and is something one really could call "one of a kind".

We in Overklokking.no have chosen to present Bizardo's project because of the originality and quality of work.
The project should stand as an object for inspiration for everyone to make something other than just standard cases.

The following article is writen by Bizardo himself, in the way he choses to present his Project Bender. We (working) in Overklokking.no can but thank you for shareing it with us, and hopes to see more from you in the future"

I have translated "kasser" to "cases" as in "case-mod",
Of course, I tried to translate the meaning, not word for word, as that makes more sense(If I didn't mess up somewere, that is)

Oh, and "Overklokking.no" is the name of the web-publication the article was originaly in, since it is a name, I have not translated it(though it means "Overclocking.no", as you probably guessed, ".no" is the norwegian ccTLD,)

There is an English version of the worklog here.

He also created the Leela case I believe(http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/leela/)

I preferred Obscured By Clouds's version. It reminds me of the Hungarian-English phrase book from Monty Python.

My hovercraft is full of eels.
