err... isn't that the information that those buttons below every post of yours are supposed to contain?

I thought that thing about the buttons as well .

TS Canuck, what exactly do you dislike about MSN? (or is it IM in general?)

It's the overuse that it gets in my school. Always, always "I'll talk to you on MSN" or "I'm on MSN right now" or "Isn't MSN great" or "So I was talking to him on MSN..." And my friends always have conversations on MSN while I'm sitting in front of them. It's like talking on the phone and completely ignoring me. Plus (and this is what really gets me) they have nothing to say. Nothing. Agh!

It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to hear a "Bling!" every five minutes, signalling inane conversation.

Wow. That all just kind of spilled out there...

    OK I see.

Well, my situation is somewhat different:

I use MSN to keep in touch with my famous "Set of Arms" during the week. Our relation is rather MSN based... Not that I like that.

Oh and I have the "bling" disabled .

Oh, I'm sure I'll warm up to it once my peers grow a bit more mature. It's just taking so long.

Give them 5 years and they're still talking about nothing on MSN while they should be working on something, trust me. There's no age limit on that behaviour.

It's not like I never use MSN for pointless chitchat, but 2 important notions here are that I do other things besides that, AND I do use MSn for serious or at least to the point talks.

    I only use gmail.com

Brillient thing that, gives you over 2000 MG of space, but you have to be invited by anouther person that uses gmail before you can join.

But Gmail is a mail service, not an IM service right? Also I tought that Gmail was 1 GB, not 2. (not that THAT really matters :-) )

Oh ok. I didn't know that. 2 GB worth of mails... But Google still doesn't offer an IM service, right? 8-[

I've tried to use the MSN software, I hated it. It launched a popup add for the same isp every time I started it up and would only open links in IE. I now use trillian which does what I want (the free version is missing some of the features from MSN that I will never use) and has tabbed chat windows, which are very useful.

I am stuck with actually using the MSN network because thats what all my friends use (but most of them use eaither trillian or a linux client now).

Oh, I'll use Trillian for IRC, so I think its more the quality of the conversations than the software for me.
