    Planet X Movie (idea!)

    I was just thinking about trying to get some film maker to accept my idea for a Planet X Film, I mean with all these earth destruction films making big money this could make alot! (Armageddon, Deep Impact, Day After Tomorrow, The Core, ect. ect.)

    For the commercial it could have...

    (each line represents a seperate page)

    <black background and red text>
    "What they discovered in 1983..."
    "Wasn't a new galaxy..."
    "It was close.."
    "And Inbound"
    <start scenes>

    For the commercial it could have Rage Against the Machines song "War Within a Breath" (The Battle of Los Angeles, 1999, Epic Records) because its so fitting for it. It has creepy music and says ".. Everything can change... On Newyears day........ And everything changed... On newyears day!"

    Would probably be a big seller eh?

    Thoughts or suggestions anyone? =D>

    That would be the worst bad science film ever. Even worse than The Core.

    Actually, something quite similar has already been done. When Worlds Collide

    Plot: Pilot Dave Randall is given the job of transporting a parcel of astronomical observations from Mount McKenna Observatory in South Africa to the US. Journalists are desperate to find the contents of the parcel, even offering him bribes. Afterwards he discovers that the parcel contains calculations that prove that a wandering star Bellus and its orbiting planet Zyra are on a collision course with the Earth. But when Dr Hendron announces his findings before the UN, he is denounced. However a private group of financiers come to him, offering to finance the building of a space ark so that a selected few can relocate on Zyra after the destruction of the Earth. As the astral bodies near, they cause mass tidal waves and Hendron's team race to complete construction on the ark. Hendron then announces a lottery to select those to go aboard.

    No, no. What you want is a movie where everyone (including the military, governments, the UN, etc.) goes nuts about Planet X flying toward us while there is a posse of astronomers running around trying to explain that the whole thing was just caused by a lens flare and some bad oysters (eaten by the head of NASA).

    Edit: Spelling.

    There are a lot of things that just don't happen in space.

    For instance, in space no one can eat ice cream!

    Ok, Maksutov....what the heck are those big, pink light bulb thingys? Having never seen this "classic" piece of cinema, I haven't a clue!

    Frankly, if this "Klown" motion picture extravaganza made money then maybe a "Planet X...Destroyer of the Earth" flick actually does have a chance?

    If there's one thing I live for, it's bad movies. I even go so far as to support free speech in movie theaters. I would gladly go watch this one to.

    The popcorn is the ammunition of their "guns". "those big, pink light bulb thingys" are cotton candy cocoons which are used to trap and slowly transform humans into edible goo, which looks very much like the contents of a cherry slurpee. That's when they're not using balloons for the same purpose.

    Of course it does, think of all the free publicity on the BABB, plus it would be every BABBers duty to attend the openings. Then, once in general release, think of all the money that would separated every so gently from woowoos and their wallets. :wink:

    The Passage
    Is this about passing a gall bladder stone... that's pretty painful.
    An old roommate of mine went through this in college... and I'm glad it's never happened to me...
    Wait... maybe Planet X is a giant gall-bladder stone!
    And our Solar System is trying to "pass" it on through....

    I took a quick look at Nancy L's movie script. It was certainly *something* alright. I'm struck by this; if this tall tale is soon to be reality why is she looking to make a movie about it? I mean, if we're all going to be toast (except those saved by the Zetans) what purpose could making a movie serve? Certainly, any money she stands to make from this endeavour would be useless after PX's passage? One would think that even the most "woo woo" of people could easily see this?

    NC makes the most excellent of points...can't our remaining time be spent more productively than cranking out a paranoia/conspiracy laced celluloid potboiler?

    On the other hand, I downloaded the .pdf file to peruse at my leisure...I sorta scanned up to page 7...it's paranoid, it's conspiracy-riddled...it's Zetasquawkę«@■ writ large...in other words, it ain't worth the screen phosphors it illuminates...
