    Google Astronomy Directory

I had no Idea google had an astronomy directory based on open directory project.

    http://directory.google.com/Top/Science/Astronomy/

I noticed that Cornell lists Bad Astronomy 3rd in general astronomy sites and I believe its an alpha list so if they had rated the link BA would be at the top...

    Googles largest 3 categories are:
    Amateur (1009)
    Solar System (826)
    Business (437)

    I find this very interesting.
    Is this news to anyone?
I was unaware there were so many sites dealing with astronomy.
I am wondering how many of them need debunked.

I didn't understand at first, but figured out those are subdirectories under science/astronomy.

Under science, the Astronomy category has 4245 entries, which is a lot, but compare it to some science biggies, Math: 13149, Technology: 14502, Biology: 27427, and Social Sciences: 29864.

It's kind of refreshing that the category Anomalies and Alternative Science only has 598. Only.

I don't understand why that would be refreshing?

Isn't it the question 'why' that brings people to science in the first place?

I don't believe we as humanity have even touched the surface of what is really going on. Not that we are wrong, more that we are describing a protein in DNA as Life.

ok now let me explain that...

we are calling reality as this (life) when reality is really many levels more detailed than we can comprehend(Proteins)
Like seeing a bannana pointing at it and saying 'Life' instead of 'bannana'

It's kind of refreshing that the category Anomalies and Alternative Science only has 598. Only.
I would think that there should be many more of these sites and studies. Sure most will be wrong but the ones that are not would open our minds to new and better things. The universe is big and old. we are dinky and newborn. without asking 'why' we will never develop.
