    I've passed the Kilopi limit!

Ok, I got to 1000 posts and didn't make a big deal about it.

Then I reached Bad PhD and still didn't make a big deal about it.

But now I've passed the Kilopi limit. I wasn't going to make a big deal about that either, but for those of you still reaching for the K-L, its pretty cool! Its like a BABB right of passage.

Maybe BA needs a new category - after Bad PhD you become a Bad Kilopi. Or maybe Bad Grapes would be better, but I suppose people would wine about that. Ok, I'd better put a cork in this before you start to champaign about merlot bad dgruss puns!

congrats. I don't think I'll ever make it. I'm the wanna be kilopi club. I like reading more than posting, so I don't expect it. anyways, this is about you, so good job, I assume you will continue, or start a new name?

edit. it seems you've already passed it, or else I don't know pi.

I apologize, I live under a rock, and I do not know what the "Kilopi limit" is.

Pi, 3.1415.... times 1000 (kilo) = 3141 postings. For reasons lost in the mists of time, this has become a milestone on BABB. Some users stop posting at this limit and switch to a new user name, others plow ahead.

I did a google image search on "kilo pie" and came up with this, a Greek cheese pie recipe made with a kilo of feta. Yummy.

Ah. That makes a not terribly unreasonable amount of sense. I was confused because I understood it to be pronounced "kiloppy."

I thought the same thing when I first came here. I thought the user with that name was a Russian fellow. I used to work with a Russian named Klipov. #-o

Me three. Although I thought it sounded more like "ki-LOP-ee." Wait, is that what you mean? I pronounced *your* "kiloppy" as "KI-lo-pee." We could drive ourselves crazy here! Or at least I could.

Lycus is the man. Here is his last post. It's easier to go by his signature, then his profile.

Kilopi as in jalopy was (and still is) the way I read it. Once I cottoned on to what it actully meant I was too far gone

    Anyway, congrats dgruss23 =D> =D> =D> (Is that D.G. Russ 23 or D. Gruss 23? )

I always pronounced it "kill-opee" until I finally read what it meant. I've been wondering the same thing about dgruss too...

Its D.G. Russ 23 - although I've been told by some that they were reading it as "drugs" - probably seems a natural fit for someone talking about intrinsic redshifts.

I want to thank Lycus for posting my mug shot on the BABB album. In case there is any uncertainty, I'm the one on the left.

I ask myself that every time I look at my beautiful wife (and she is if I can brag for a moment). Very glad I'm not the one on the right!

It's the name of an asteroid, 3142 Kilopi. (hey, if we couldn't search those old threads, I wouldn't be able to do that)
