    Help!! my comp died

    Hi,
    Windows XP
Last night I cut off the power to my comp. now Every time I turn on my computer it saids:Windows was not shut down properly due to power outage etc... and lists; start windows normally, last known good cofigeration, safe mode etc...but no matter what option I select it loads a progress bar (or the safe mode thing) goes to splash/load screen for 1 second then a blue screen pops up for a split second then it restarts and the who progress repeats itself. Its driving me nuts.

    Try this:

    1. Log in using Administrator or equivalent account.
    2. Click OK to close Safe Mode dialog.
    3. Right-click (use the right mouse button) on My Computer. Choose Manage. The Computer Management Console should open.
    4. Click Device Manager (it's under System Tools) in the left-hand frame.
    5. Click the small arrow next to Display Adapters. The category should expand to show your particular adapter model.
    6. Right click your adapter and choose Uninstall.
    7. Restart Windows normally. XP will detect and reinstall a fresh copy of the display driver.

I would try that simple procedure before I move on to the worse case scenarios. Post here to let us know how things react when you try them.

Have you tried hitting the Enter key before the progress bar finishes?
