OT: And you thought the HBs were bad....

I've joked that some probably think that World War II was a hoax. This guy thinks that not only the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were fakes, but thinks that nuclear weapons themselves are fake!

Oh, Lord. What a kook. I couldn't even make it to the end of the first page before losing interest in his ramblings.

Finally a valid argument for restarting above-ground nuclear bomb tests. Put this guy at minimum safe distance and ... "Here. Put these on. Now HOLD ON TIGHT! There, see it? Oh, the blast wave is coming ... HELLO? CAN YOU HEAR ME???"

I got far enough to see that he thinks that there should be a crater at the epicenter, and that the absence of one is evidence of a hoax.

I couldn't hang in there long enough to find out if he's got any bonnet-bees about shadow directions, or stars, or the Van Allen belts...

If you skip to page five of the thread, cactus demonstrates his lack of critical thinking skills when confronted with the triangle "paradox."

The racism starts (and I stopped) at the fourth post on page 1. Yes, it's the International Jewish Conspiracy again. Good grief.

Nice idea, but I think he would need to stand a lot closer. More like, here stand next to this nice "fictional" device.

Let's see...nuclear weapons are fake. Ok, let's "nuke" him! Shouldn't be a big deal, right? Either that or we feed him to Maksutov's Hypnotoad! Where do people like this come from?

I oughta sue the BBC and everyone involved in the production of Threads for all those years of teenage trauma. To think.... a hoax based on a hoax based on a hoax! For shame. [-X

He lost me early on....his major arguments appeared to be that A) the practical engineering of a bomb was difficult and performance could not be reliably predicted, and B) the damage shown in photographs of Hiroshima did not match the before-the-drop predictions.

After that he gets into the usual all-embracing conspiracy rant. I've always wondered...if the so-and-so (pick your demon) run the entire world, why are they keeping it secret? Every government is in your hip pocket, you've got technology no-one else has even dreamed of and mind control out the yin-yang...and you are afraid of what? Some local hicks with hunting rifles rising up against you?

Even on the less world-embracing he falls on the usual level of, as Clavius puts it, scale. Who, exactly, fakes the bomb? A handful of (jewish) scientists? So the engineers and the machinists and bomber crews and all that still exist, and still get paid...there's all the "zillions of dollars" he was talking about. I fail to see how a small cabal of scientists gets their "cut."

But then, real bomb here, real nations, real math...a heck of a lot of people to try to fool.

My favorite moment in the thread is when a supporter of this amazing hogwash chimes in with "Of course they could fake the film (of nuclear tests) -- they faked the film of JFK's assasination!"

Did you guys notice that he claims that the atomic bomb pictures and films were photoshopped? Yep, they had photoshop back in 1945.

So they had software for a device (the personal computer) that would not be invented for another 20 years, but they couldn't make a device (the atomic bomb) based on theories and experimental work that had been around for a decade or two. Well, it is Christmas and time for fruitcakes.

Back in the early seventies, some friends of mine were discussing a novel based on the premise that the atom bomb, for some inane reason I forget, would explode on the ground but not when dropped from a plane. So, to make the world believe we had a practical atom bomb, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were "faked". A huge fleet of planes dropped incendiaries and radioactive material to simulate a nuclear explosion. I found this to be too far-fetched even for a pot-boiler, and was roundly criticized. Anybody heard of this novel?

    Ouch

Looking at all the other comments on this wacko's post, and the positive slant to the Amazon reviews, it started to seem there might be a whole tribe of "Bomb Hoax" conspiracy believers out there.

So I did a Google. Didn't find much, but it is out there....

(I think this one is a hoax hoax -- but the readers seemed to take it seriously).

People like this are an insult to the people who lost family in Wrold War II. As a vet I would personally like to meet this idiot and give him a peace of my mind. My grandfather died in that war and my father and grandmother were left to fend for themselves.

I have freinds who lost family and know several people who were surviors of the bombings. To glorify war is horrific, but to say any part of it did't happen is insane.

If this sounds like an attack against that person, so be it. I will not sit by and let his insanity go unanswered.

Hmm...no nuclear weapons, then what's the use for nuclear materials? Something like this perhaps? BTW, take a look here for who the founder of this company is!
