Back in May me and wife went to visit the 3 Sisters Uplift area, it was closed off, but met an fellow from USGS that offered us a way in this upcoming summer as volunteer workers for them.
So on that trip we went to Newberry Calderra instead, and took some photos and basically had fun exploring the huge (500sqmile) crater.
When we got home we sent one of the photos to the gentelmen we met, and he confirmed that we caught a very small steam emision on film. This is not odd for Newberry.
However USGS a few weeks ago placed a siemograph in the crater. Recived an email from him to check out the Dec 14th readings on the new siesmograph.
A very small eathquake Swarm, all with less then a 0.5 Mag. Not an earth shattering event, but intresting to say the least.
