Miss Dominican Republic is first runner up, and Miss USA is second runner up.

Well if a near earth object misses the world then they'll also miss Peru. I'm not convinced about the reverse logic though, "Miss Peru" is equivalent to "Miss World"...

At least it is an honest beauty contest, they don't have them up there to ask for world peace as if that were an insight. They don't pretend to be relevant.

I tuned into the Miss USA contest a few years ago and thought something was wrong with my TV set for a minute because all the women seemed stretched out vertically. (I'm sorry, but 5'9" and 120 pounds is just not natural.)
