    Jimmy Neutron

I was flipping channels on CATV yesterday and stumbled across a program called Jimmy Neutron. It is a fully computer generated animated kids program, so I stopped for a few minutes to watch.

I immediately encountered bad geography. Jimmy and friends were going to the Pacific Ocean to locate a spy, and were sent to coordinates of 180 degrees West /90 degrees North.

I watched for a few more minutes, and as far as I could tell, the program is full of bad everything....especially physics. I didn't see any bad astronomy, but I quickly changed channels.

I don't mind bad physics in cartoons (I love Wiley Coyote), but when the kids fell off a mountain and didn't get hurt because they fell into snow, I knew I wasn't watching Chuck Jones-quality stuff.

I enjoy the cartoon. IT has far more jokes that only a adult would get than most realize. Its prety damn funny. :-)

The cartoon series is purely for fun and i do not think much emphasis of Physics is given. Jimmy and his pet dog can do miracles like going to space without any space suit ( in another series), disapperaing and reapperaing things by click of a button etc.

I'll have to check it out again, but with the proper frame of mind. As I said, I'm willing to accept bad physics in a cartoon if it fits well with the story/comedy. Still, the 180 degrees west, 90 degrees north thing bothers me. Maybe I'm just wound too tight.
