    Femto-phography: Watching light move

Here is an 11 minute video of a TED talk where a new ultra slow motion method of photography is used that allows video to see a pulse of laser light move through a bottle of water, and uses light to see around corners by bouncing off walls.

It looks a little rough, but I though it might be of interest to some here.

It was mentioned that showing a bullet passing through a bottle, recorded with this camera, would take a year.

It doesn't actually record at femtosecond speeds (which would be incredible), the video is built up of many exposures (several min. worth) to get enough light to make a video that shows what you would see if you had a camera that recorded that fast.

If you could fire trillions of bullets, or record as many identical explosions (good luck with that) this technique could give you a video like that.

    It's still cool, though.
