    Commodore Decker has Left the Bridge

    Sadly, actor William Windom, who played Commodore Decker on Star Trek TOS (among other roles) passed away this weekend at the age of 88.

    Windom was a lifelong chess enthusiast, and one of the best players in Hollywood, I am told.

    He was a common presense in a lot of TV series and movies in the 1960 and 70s, someone who ends up almost feeling like a friend you see them so often.

    His best role (as much as I adore Doomsday Machine) was in The Twilight Zone:
