    Image of Lunar X

    Dear Friends:

I share link for the image ( 2163x 2500 pixels) of the Moon obtained the last Wednesday, day 25 July 2012, of the 23:25 to the 23:45 UT, here in Juazeiro north, in the Ceará, in Brazil, in that it notices the "Lunar X" or "Werner X". It was used telescope 203mm opening, f/10 and a Camera Canon T1i in primary focus.
17219 images obtained of 32 films were added to compose the mosaic.

Lunar X is an optical effect caused by the sunlight between the ridges of the craters La Caille, and Blanchinus Purbach, and is easily observed with small telescopes.
In 2012 the "phenomenon" occurs 5 times in sequintes dates and times (Universal Time):

    August 24, from 9h31 to 12h34
    September 22, from 21h39 to 00h42 from September 23
    October 22, from 11h01 to 14h04
    November 21, from 1:30 to 4:33
    December 20th, from 16h38 to 19h41

    Good skies for all!
