    EMOND....going beyond MOND?

The authors propose a modification of MOND that covers all mass discrepancies, both in galaxies and galaxy clusters. SEE:http://arxiv.org/abs/1207.6232

    Hmm....
Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.

Cougar. Hmmm also. That'd mean that if you took one of our modern Cavendish type set-ups, dropped it gently down a convenient mineshaft....(Homestake?)...you'd find a different but measurable value of G. Since they just explained away the anomalous Voyager acceleration, I'm not jumping too quick at this. pete

Do you mean the Pioneer anomalies?

The possible solution is only an uncalibrated guess. I have read, but never seen documented that the EotWash Cavendish-like tests produced curious results in a deep mine shaft; but I have nothing to support this.

Generally speaking, introducing two new parameters to right an apparent problem at great distances is an iffy solution; although tying it to a deep elevator Canvendish would be precious. We should be able the devine the same information in an elliptical solar Cavendish experiment. Let's do it.

The Pioneer anomaly has been explained simply by thermal radiation. There is a recent publication which says this. So any theory seeking to explain it via modifications to gravity seem a bit surplus to requirements.
