To be blunt, I haven't heard anything about this at all from Pamela and her team in many weeks. I don't know if that means it is just very difficult and slow, or it has been abandoned. You might want to drop a PM or an e-mail to her directly through her StarStryder account here on CQ, that seems to be the one she is most active with.

Yep, I've noticed that this thread has had absolutely no responses from any of the QC(pre-merge) admins.

If there is a reasonable chance of that working, I'll
pay a share of the cost. I'd expect it to cost way
more than I could pay for alone.

This should work for anyone who requests it?

This is one of a couple of things that seemed to me to be a higher priority than smilies.

But smilies are in the capabilities of our "own" administrators (ToSeek) where the PM problem isn't. So it doesn't seem to be an issue with priorities, just that ToSeek is solving the problems he can whereas the people with database access seem to have disappeared somehow.

Sure. But the whole advantage we were sold on the merger was that we'd have people to do the tech stuff.

Hmmm, the problem may have even gotten worse. All of my sent items from prior to August 1, 2012 are now gone into the neverland of January 1, 1970. I don't recall it being that severe before. I still have inbox items since 2006.

I have nothing from before the merger.
    Absolutely zilch.

The Build Team believes they have solved the PM problem and pushed over a solution earlier today. Everyone who has had problems with missing PMs, please check your Inbox. If you are still having problems, please post them to the merger issues thread. Thanks

    Mine are back!

However, our new technical staff has noted that members shouldn't keep important information in their PMs. If you've got something you want to hang onto, it's easy enough to archive it: tick the box to the right of the messages you want to save, then go to the bottom of the page and in the "Selected Messages" menu select whichever "Download as..." is most appropriate to you. That will save a file of the messages on your local machine.
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.
