SG1 'New Order part 1'
It was a much better opening than for season seven. I liked the Goa'uld negotiations plot where there was all these bluffs within bluffs. Seeing Torri Higginson's performance in this episode, I'm encouraged about her participation in Atlantis.
It was good to see Thor again and the replicators. I liked Fifth being so vengeful. It reminded me of Reese, where he had power and human emotion, but not the maturity or compassion to handle them in a good way.
Might I say that once again, they engineered a clever way to get RDA time off.
But to the BA. Othalla's sun was collapsed into a black hole to destroyed the replicators? Collapsing the sun into a black hole wouldn't actually suck things in if the mass remained unchanged. The orbit of Othalla would still have to be disturbed. I think a similar mistake was implied in 'A Matter of Time'.
Seeing some of the previews of Atlantis, I'm encouraged. I still have some doubts about the characters (not about MacKay and less and less about Weir), but I think the plot has potential and I'm absolutely sure it will look great.
