    Introducing Lucy Olive.

Our Son (the zombie) has blessed us with a grand child. A beautiful girl named Lucy Olive.

This picture was taken a month ago (on the 7th of June) when she was 11 days old.

...and our Son has lost at least 75 IQ points...he speaks to "Little Lucy" (as we call her) in a high "sing song" voice...

...I know I was never like that with either our Son or Daughter.......

The clearity expressed in the eyes, really "bothers" me.

Took me a minute to recognize you -- was looking for Asimov instead of the zombie! Brains!

As I understand it, it's a recognized language teaching mode of speech which results in earlier learning by the child.
Probably because at that age they're wired very differently.

I read a recent study showing that young children (2-3 years old) don't recognize their own voice enough to use it to adjust pronunciation, so all feedback is from other people.

Sorry, all I can come up with is, "R.A.F., she's beautiful!"

But, since you insist, are you sure you two are related?

yes...to shamelessly "advertise" this thread, I'm using a picture of my son the zombie...it's temporary...

Like I posted, I never did anything like that.

Interesting...our Daughter, when she was about that age, spoke with an "accent". She sounded like she was from Brooklyn, NY.

Right after she was born, and before I saw her, my Son told us that she looked like my Dad...and when we first saw her, the very first thing we said was "she looks like my Dad"...in particular around the nose and brow line.

No...there is no doubt as the bloodline.

Here's a picture of her sleeping.

Ok...just one more picture, for the time being.

The clarity in the eyes surprises me. I assume I'm "reading" too much into that...

Yes, that happens. We used to tease my brother that his daughter was apparently from "Joisey."

Beautiful little girl, by the way.

No, you're not. I noticed the same thing. What an absolutely wonderful expression that is! IMO that could be a winner in a Most Beautiful Baby contest. She looks soooo comfortable and happy.

Sometimes zombieism is just latent. Hard to tell for sure.

My son's baby pictures are almost haunting, like he knew everything that was going on. We did a lot of talking to him while he was in the womb. They say babies can hear just fine, and while they may not have the visual or environmental cues to know what you're talking about, your speech is still shaping their brain.

My son had pretty much the same expression as your granddaughter. It's sort of an, "I can't say what I'm thinking, but make no mistake - I AM thinking quite well, thank you very much!"

Same. It's a wonder he didn't get it all tangled up on something on the way out.

I'm thinking hair length might be more than coincidence, but the local hospital refuses to allow me to measure the hair length of their newborns...

    Yes, I'm kidding. I haven't asked them.

    Yet...

    Ok! Ok! I'm kidding! Jeez...

My Son has taken to calling Lucy, "Wiggy" after the Bunny Wiggleswroth character from the movie Zorro, the Gay Blade.

    No...I don't know why....
