Hmmm, This Seems To Be Progressing Rather Rapidly.

Last year my doctor told me I had level one cataracts in both eyes. That seems to be on a scale of one to four.

This last Friday I looked in the mirror and my outer rims of my irises, which have been a rich brown my whole life, are distinctly blue-grey for almost a third of the way in.

I'm rather surprised I'm only just noticing.

I guess that shows how much time I spend NOT looking in the mirror.

at least you live in an age where cataracts can be dealt with very effectively, my mother opted for just one eye done and her sight was improved so much she went back to reading books, and without glasses.

Indeed...my Wife had cataract surgery a few years ago...while still in her 40's...doctors were surprised because of her "youth". Every other patent that we saw there was in their 70's.

Now, everytime the light hits her eye just right, she reminds me of some kind of cyborg/terminator. The odd reflection off of it really does look scary.

Havent you seen the 'my wife was replaced by a cyborg assassin during surgery' thread in the CT section?

Note that the benefits of cataract surgery only apply to BD if he's able to afford it. I hope that's the case.

I'm a service-connected veteran Treb. Who lives fifteen miles from a very good VA hospital to the North and 30 miles from an even better one to the south.

Glad to here it. I thought that might be the case but wasn't sure.

When my folks had the surgery it gave them back their lives. My Mom was able to actually see her first great-grandchild before she passed.
