STS-122 landed on the day my family was in Mystic to celebrate my 15th birthday. It was really incredible to have a shuttle landing AND a lunar eclipse to watch the same day (and visit the aquarium in-between).
Thank you, Mr. Poindexter, for giving me one of the best birthdays ever.
All of my family's prayers and best wishes go out to his family and friends.
Especially his sons, who were also in the same accident with their father.
He will be missed. I wish folk would leave the jet skis alone.
My oldest daughter and his youngest son had many classes together in high school. Before his missions, he always brought in NASA stuff for the kids in the class.
Moved from SML to Space Exploration
My thoughts are also with his family.
