σ8 is the rms linear mass fluctuation within a sphere of radius 8h−1Mpc extrapolated to z = 0
Where in there does entering numbers before running the model allow the model (which was written without knowing the actual numeric initial conditions) to "know" about Galaxies, Quasars, large scale structure, and distribution?
Those parameters are not large scale structure, galaxies or quasars or their distribution. They are simply numbers, that are based on observations. Those numbers do nothing else but give the model the initial conditions. The model then proceeds from there.
