Don't let your reality checks bounce. ~MeI'll tell you in the next life, when we are both cats.
Well, not exactly misread, but open to an alternate interpretation: http://www.bautforum.com/showthread....ch-on-the-Moon
"What can a polar bear smell"
Not really misread, but in my mind this one is always processed as "what can a polar bear smell like". Given their lifestyle, I think they smell like rotten fish, dirty snow, salty water, bear...![]()
My first thought upon seeing "Torino 10" was that the poster had made a mistake because the Torino Olympics were in 2006, while the 2010 Olympics were in Vancouver.
Not on Bautforum, but on the Rocketry Forum a few years back there was a thread entitled "Gene Kranz Joins the Choir". I didn't miss read, but I did misinterpret it and got really sad all of a sudden.

Thread Titles You've Misfired? ... oh, wait..
Do abbreviated thread titles count? On the main page of the forum the title of the most recently active thread in a subforum is abbreviated, often leading to (IMNSHO) funny combinations of abbreviated thread title and most recent poster. Could humans eat extraterrestrial creatures? in LiS would show as "Could humans eat ... Inclusa". Ah well, it made me grin.

Ridiculously True, or Truly Ridiculous?
Welcome to the holy Church.
I misread elizabeth25's thread "Sinus help" as "Sirius help" which amused me, while at the same time I appreciate she's having a difficult time right now and I don't want to belittle the fact.
In Space Exploration there is the NASA to go nuclear thread. I read it just fine, but in my brain I always think "what is NASA so angry about?".
Please Please Go!!

Every time I see the title of the Q&A thread Mars in a Lightbulb, I read it fine, but I think <singing> If I could put Mars in a lightbulb... (to the tune of If I could put time in a bottle...
I used to think that the goal of "leave a random silly sentence" was to post stuff such as:
"people who park on the wrong side of the road are sentenced to wear their coat inside out for 3 weeks"
"people who drive too fast are sentenced to drive backwards for one month"
Ah, he owns a Porsche 928 or an old Daf variomatic.![]()

I don't have problems with the name of the thread, Kamchatkan-Volcanoes, but for some reason I keep reading the mountain names as:
Mr. Gorely
Mr. Bezmianny
Mr. Sheveluch
Those names could have been in the rough draft of "Reservoir Dogs".

Slightly off topic: A few hours ago I saw a news headline about The Chicken Nugget Casino.
Blinked.
It's The Golden Nugget Casino.
I got a good laugh out of that.![]()

On another forum:
What it said: "Game Change" (As in the new TV movie.)
What I read: "Name Change" (As in, the user who created it is changing their username.)
Judging by some of my posts, I've mistaken the Leave-a-random-fact and We-don't-need-no-stinkin'-untrue-facts threads for each other.

Another one I read correctly, but interpret badly, is the "Moon Movements" thread. My first thought is to movements that astronomical bodies don't do, and animals with digestive tracts do.![]()
