Possible new hoax claim!

At work we have someone who believes in all sorts of conspiracy theories :-? , Roswell, Alien Abductions and of course the Moon Hoax.

Anyway he was talking about this 'wonderful' documentary he had purchased on the moon hoax, he went into some details about the film however most of the points covered were old hat, waving flags, non-parallel shadows, etc.

Then he described the 'clincher' supposedly the film shows an image of the lunar surface then superimposes it on a photo taken 'in California' and the lunar terrain is a 'perfect match' for the Californian terrain.

This is the first time I have heard of this particular claim, has anyone heard of it?

More to the point can someone supply me with the title of this film as I would like to know who is responsible for this travasty(sic).

NASA simulated a section of the lunar surface in detail using carefully placed explosives to produce as near a replica as they could. It was used for training purposes. I would guess this is the image used.

No, that's just the official line. After all, they had gone to all the trouble of creating it. Someone might discover it later and put 2+2 together and figure things out. So they spread the disinformation that they created it for "training" when it's really where they filmed the lunar surface footage.

I remember a documentry about Area 51, (there were issues with employees getting sick and the doctors not being allowed details of substances handled which prevented them treating the employees but thats bye the bye)

It said that because so many people yak about Area 51, they moved all of the good stuff to Denver.

I suspect that he may have seen both 'Dark Side of the Moon' and the 'FOX Documentary' and got them confused :-? .

If he can afford those silly videos, get him to buy the BBC series "The Planets". Although it's 5 years old it still contains a lot of good information. In particular, it shows how Apollo was used to do Good Science. Anyone wanting to credit a Moon Hoax has to explain how the *world's* scientists use the Apollo data. It also shows how that crater field was created, and an explanation from Farouk el-Baz as to *why* it was created.
