Interview with the owner of a "UFO" site

This is a short interview with John Greenwalde Jr. the owner of The Black Vault web site. He gives mostly excellent answers to somewhat leading questions. He is a breath of fresh air in the wacko dominated ufo world.

I must say, it trips my baloney detector when he cites Fox News, Drudge, and Rense as his most significant news sources.

With the first two, he could do worse . As for rense, it is a ufo site.
What surprised me was he doesn't jump on the alien bandwagon and understands that ufo's are just unidentified, very rare in those circles.

While he might not be on that particular "bandwagon", he certainly believes that the government is involved in a UFO cover up.

A seemingly reasonable voice in a sea of woowoos?
Seems to stand out as reasonable doesn't it?

You say, "ah, this is a balanced approach." Look a little closer, some of the reasoning may sound like pursuasive argument (when compared to a woowoo statement) but is deeply flawed.
A sweeping statement that is repeated and is a cornerstone of argument:

    Ok -
    1) This assumes a freedom of information across all government departments. Like they all have a meeting so the departments creating the documents have full knowledge of all the secret activities of the other services. Wasn't there a recent review praising the US Government agencies for just such a co-ordinated approach??!!

    2) "Oh look the military have secret new stealth aircraft and they are flying them over China, lets document this so the world will know that they are not UFOs - the truth is out there." Lets not assume that it is in the interest of everybody (including the safety of US citizens) to disprove some theories. If you have a secret stealth aircraft that you are flying over hostile territory and people start seeing UFOs would you debunk or encourage? Difficult this, now lets see what documentation we can generate to misdirect. Nothing sinister, just set a department to investigate UFOs and keep them blind of the facts...

A seemingly reasonable voice in a sea of woowoos?
    Or the Soft Sell approach?

    From the interview:
"QUESTION # 19: What are the addresses for some of your favorite web sites?

John Greenewald, Jr. Replied: I check a lot of sites, but mostly get my news from Fox News Channel which is one while I am working (and usually even relaxing)."

With that answer, my baloney detector hits the red and the needle moves into the bunk zone. :^o
