When my younger brother was little, he was a VERY picky eater. PB&J's and chicken noodle soup were about the only things he'd eat. Vegetables? Fergetaboutit! (Or however you spell that.)

My Mom was concerned and took him to the doctor. The doc told her if you're only going to eat one thing, you can't do much better than PB&J. I still hate chicken noodle soup, by the way.

I quit "crunchy' peanut butter when I found out it was just peanut butter with crunchy bits added back in. Also, losing most of my teeth didn't help! Peanut bits under dentures can be agonizing!
    Make mine with grape jelly.

Speaking of crunchy peanut butter, I prefer smooth.

However (just now remembered), the best PBJ sandwich I've yet fixed was with Sunbeam brand (hamburger) buns, creamy peanut butter, dry roasted peanuts on top (yeah I know...that seems contradictory), and blackberry jam on top bun.

THAT is the ultimate PBJ for me. There's just something about the texture of Sunbeam brand buns that goes perfectly with everything else.

My mother wasn't into PBJs much, but she did like to take a couple of large scoops of PB and mix it up with liberal amounts of dark molasses then ate it by the spoonful, I never liked it much but she swore by it.

Plain, not the crunchy kind, and definately no jelly.

My daughter likes peanut butter and bananas.

My sisters likes peanut butter and bacon.

I eat it with sliced, raw onion sometimes...that's pretty nice.

Penaut butter a little honey and some strawberry jam. Also for a while we had some homemade green grape jam made fro grapes we grow here, a lot of sugar but tasted great. Another good jam is rhubarb and strawberry.

The first girl-friend I had ate PB&J sandwiches all the time. Because that was all she could afford as she was 18 and living on her own. I was 17 at the time and would bring her left-overs from my parents to feed her.

If I am in a rush and really hungry, a heaping spoon of peanutbutter, usually does the trick. When I make a sandwich though, it has to be a thick layer of peanutbutter and a thin layer of strawberry preserves. My mother only bought grape jelly, growing up, and I would beg her for the strawberry but she would never buy it. Strawberry preserves is the only thing I will buy, now.
